About writers and criminals: the Van Lennepstraat
The street is named after Jacob van Lennep, a politician and writer from Amsterdam who lived in the 19th century. The street is located in the Spangen district (West Rotterdam). It used to be a notorious district in the 80's because of criminality, drug using and prostitution. After lots of investments, projects, renovations, etc. Spangen is doing much better.
